About Us
Dear Reader,
I arrived in Finland in 2006, where I started working for several languages schools in Helsinki. Before I came to Finland I was living in the Netherlands for a year and worked as a Business Analyst at CISCO Systems. Additionally, I completed a Bachelor of Business Systems and I worked for a number of IT companies in Australia where I was responsible for areas such as marketing, sales, office management, and customer service and support.
The Lingua Tailor was founded in 2006 with the aim to provide a broad range of language services to schools, companies and individuals. Those services include language, cultural awareness and relocation courses. Text services are also available, such as editing, proofreading and translation. Our text service professionals are from all around the world which allows us to be kept up to date on current terminology and language usage.
The skilled language trainers at The Lingua Tailor are well versed in modern language training techniques which encourage students to speak from the very first lesson. It is vital for us to provide courses which are entertaining yet challenging, where students feel that they have learnt something at the end of every lesson. The use of technology is also encouraged such as using several forms of multimedia in the classroom. Furthermore, online courses are also available with the use of Skype and net meeting software so students do not need to leave the home or office if they find that more convenient.
In addition to our interactive courses, students are also encouraged to immerse themselves in the new language by reading, watching movies, listening to podcasts or music in their spare time. Through these immersion activities the student becomes more interested in the new language and they are more motivated to learn.
